The plane received permission to take off. All fastened seatbelts, and the Rav said the Wayfarer’s Prayer, beseeching the Al-mighty to guide the hands of the captain and bring them to their ¿nal destination in peace and good health. Accompanied by the noisy sounds of the powerful jet engines, the plane took off and reached a dizzying height, creating a path for itself through the dark grey clouds to the stratosphere above. Such tremendous power – “How great are your works, Hashem.” Tons of metal and plastic hurtled through the skies, carrying passengers towards the Heavens while breaking the speed of sound. To reachArgentina in three hours is akin to the Biblical ‘shortening of the way.’ The plane soon prepared for landing. Amidst screeching tires, the wheels on the runway broke the planes speed and ¿nally the plane came to a halt. “Thank G-d we have arrived peacefully,” murmured the Rav. He cautiously stood up and slowly made his way down the aisle to the exit, which had been opened in his honor. The former Argentinean Prime Minister, Carlos Menem, waited for the Rav in the arrival hall, welcoming the Rav and escorting him to his limousine. They were joined by Mr. Tsaphdia, and they sped to the hospital where his daughter lay unconscious. With slow steps, the Rav walked down the grey corridors of the hospital. His arrival was observed by all the sick patients, mostly non-Jewish, who were overcome by the radiant splendor which shone from his face.
