The Wonders of Harav Yitzchack Kadouri
295 The Rav advised practicing a segulah mentioned in a certain prayer book in the name of Rabbi Yosef Taitchik. Engraved in a special cup were the four Biblical rivers of the Garden of Eden. One was to recite the havdalah ceremony over wine while using this cup. During the festival of Sukkot and Passover, the Rav would arrive at the Kotel Hama’aravi to pray. He would pray at the parts of the Kotel whch are underground, descending to the tunnels underneath the Plaza. Then he would ask to be brought to the spot which lay closest to the foundation stone of the Holy Temple. Standing be- fore the barred tunnel which led directly into the Holy of Holies, the Rav pleaded and prayed for the welfare of all Jews, every- where. A woman who was barren for many years once ate from the etrog that the Rav used for his four species on Sukkot. She had children right away. In general, the etrog has been known to help those who stutter or children who have not yet learnt how to speak. Many sick people were healed after rubbing themselves with ol- ive oil that the Rav articulated certain holy names over or merely meditated upon. One segulah used to ¿nd one who was lost, is to light a candle in the memory of King David. This is a tried and tested method. Others light a candle in the memory of the Tanna Rabbi Meir, as a segulah for having their prayers answered.
