284 Lost and found Nirah showed up one day, worried over her lost brother, Moshe. Crying bitterly, she described how Moshe had simply disappeared, almost a month before. She hadn’t heard from him in all this time, and prayed for his well-being. I told her not to worry. Her brother was alive and well, in some city outside of Israel. In the merit of the Rav, she would yet hear from him before the ninth of Av. Sure enough, Nirah returned to the tomb to tell me that indeed, Moshe had called her from Italy. But still her fears were not alleviated, as she wouldn’t be able to calm her nerves unless she could see him for herself, alive and well. The only com- munication they had was through diplomatic chan- nels, using the embassy’s telephone. I promised her that in the merit of the Rav, he would be back home by the Jewish New Year, or at least the day after the New Year. The day after the New Year, Nirah called me up, saying that her bro- ther had returned,
