25 In Mikeitz (p. 113) he writes: If you will continue to do as I have said, always concentrating your thoughts on me, not disrupting that mental attachment even for a second, you will merit doing miracles just as in days gone by. People nowadays do not give recognition to Torah scholars because they do not perform miracles as they once did. The reason why they were able to perform miracles in days of old was because they had that constant attachment to Torah and fear of Heaven, not being distracted HYHQ IRU DQ LQVWDQW 7KLV LV KRZ WKH\ JUHZ LQ FKDUDFWHU UH¿QHPHQW DQG VSLULWXDO elevation. And you too will merit doing so, as long as you make me the center of your attention, not wavering even for an instant. In Shemot (p. 139) he writes: G-d is with you, when you attach yourself to Him, concentrating on thoughts of fear of Heaven and love of G-d. Do not detach your thoughts even just for a second. You will merit doing miracles like the sages of the Talmud did, in order that this generation should know that there is a G-d in ,VUDHO -XVW DV \RX PHULWHG VSHDNLQJ WR PH ¿UVWKDQG VRPHWKLQJ \RX QHYHU HYHQ thought possible, so too, you will merit performing miracles… The angel of Rabbi Yosef Karo refers him to the miracles done by the Tanaim, the sages of the Talmud. These miracles are mentioned in the Talmud and other Midrashic sources, in quite a number of places. One such source is the Talmudic tractate of Ta’anit. Similarly, the work Chayei Olam (of the Steipler Gaon) makes a compilation of such sources, referring the reader to most of the miracles listed in the Talmud.
