The Wonders of Harav Yitzchack Kadouri

217 To my consternation, the ¿rst tomb was built by non-Jews Only a Jew should build the tomb One day, my telephone rang. On the other end of the line was someone I did not recognize. He said, “You should know, Arabs are building the tomb. The Rav was very much against Arabs building a holy site, and opposed their building the Yeshiva when he was alive.” He asked me to go to Har Hamenuchot and see that the construction on the tomb should not be done by non-Jews. Right away, I went to the cemetery and found the Jewish contractor. I told him that the Rav would never have let non-Jews to build his tomb. From his answer, I understood that he employed Arab workers to help move the heavy, gigantic marble slabs and set them in place. I warned him, however, that the Rav would have only wanted Jewish workers to be employed. The contractor promised me that he would respect the wishes of the Rav in the future.
