The Wonders of Harav Yitzchack Kadouri

171 The crowd walked in silence people surging forward, but in vain. After a few minutes, they found themselves on the ground, stepped on by the unwitting forefront of the crowd. As a result, two of¿cers were slightly injured, one from a police barricade which fell on his feet. Another drama played itself out when a large crowd of bys- tanders leaned on an old wall fence on Fishel Street, which collapsed without warning and fell on those below. One per- son was hurt by a rock falling on his chest and sustained mo- derate injuries. Another six people were treated for light injuries. Hatzalah volunteers as well as Magen Dovid personnel were sprinkled throughout the procession, some of them on motorcycles, strenuously making their way through the crowd. They administered ¿rst aid and attended to the injured. In addition, on Yeshiva Street, a bochur on a third story roof, for some inexplicable reason, suddenly lost his balance, only to miraculously fall to the balcony a Àight beneath him and not to the street below. He was treated for moderate injuries. After the eulogies, the crowd began to walk towards Kikar Shabbat, and then down Malchei Yisrael, on the way to Har Hemenuchot. It was a silent proces- sion, and along the way several people distributed papers which eulogized in but a few lines Harav Kadouri’s and gave a glimpse of his great character. A general view of the large crowd made it clear that the personality of Rav Kadouri uni¿ed all segments of religious Jewry, as the full spectrum of Jewry was represented. His wisdom of Kabbalah bridged all camps, and here one could see the Jewish nation walking together in the Rav’s funeral.
