130 May you see great wonders Sobi tells us about another aspect of his business. “When there would be bidding between corporations, which one should receive a business venture, I always asked the Rav. If he advised not to participate, we didn’t, even if it involved tremendous pro¿ts. We didn’t put forth our bid. Once, after we received his blessing, our bid was turned down. We came to the Rav and told him what happened. The Rav said, “Don’t worry. You will win and see, with the help of G-d, tremendous success in this venture.” Soon afterwards, the whole picture changed. Those who secured the contract dropped it, and it transferred over to us. At ¿rst we were a consortium of four partners, but when we were told that another company had received the contract, two partners left us, despite hearing the blessing of the Rav. Thank G-d me and my friend merited the large contract, in the merit of the Rav. May G-d protect us from the evil eye In 1979, Shulamit bat Chavivah visited the Rav. After giving birth to her ¿rstborn son, she experienced terrible pain in her entire body, and was unable to eat normal meals. For three months the pain continued to linger, and none of the doctors could diagnose her illness or ¿nd a remedy. She ¿nally came with her sister to the house of the Rav.
