It was an old Fiat 7. The Rav asked me to remove a seat from the car, so that he could sit comfortably in middle of the ¿eld. He looked overjoyed at the ability to ful¿ll such precious mitzvoth, despite his advanced age. After tilling and seeding the ¿eld, a wealthy supporter of the yeshiva arrived, in his new luxury car, and asked the Rav if he wanted a ride home. The Rav answered, ‘I came with him and I will return with him.’ Despite the comfort of the newer car, the Rav preferred to travel in my old jalopy, so as not to hurt my feelings.”
