An amulet to prevent assimilation The Rav also wrote an amulet against assimilation. This severed the contact forged between a Jew and a gentile (of opposite genders.) Says my dear friend, Rav Shimon Mellul, who served the Rav faithfully and accompanied him eve- rywhere: “Six months ago, the French community was completely shaken. The son of a Jewish millionaire put an end to his relationship with a non- Jewish girl, after he wore an amulet which Rav Kadouri had written with him in mind.” The most wondrous thing about the Rav’s amulets was not what he wrote but how he wrote it.
