The Rav strongly held that that one should study the ba- sic texts without diverging into variant digressions or bringing up peripheral questions. The other Kabbalists held that, in order to deepen their understan- ding, it was necessary to analyze the material and open a plentitude of books, examining the topic on hand from all sides. This difference of opinion is what HYHQWXDOO\ OHG WR WKH 5DY¶V GHSDUWXUH IURP WKH JURXS The Rav began a new group, together with his study partner, Harav Shmuel Darazi zt”l. They used the Beit E-l yeshiva on Rashi Street as their headquar- ters, and called themselves Yeshivat Dor Yesharim . From this yeshiva, the Rav spread his way of learning, and the number of students grew from year to year. They came to absorb his teachings and enjoy his resplendent presence. Already from the start, there were ten Kabbalists under his tutelage, delving into the study of the Zohar and praying according to the prayer book of the Rashash . As time went on, Harav Darazi became more involved in the running RI WKH \HVKLYD DQG ZDV DSSRLQWHG WKH 5DY¶V DVVLVWDQW 8QWLO WKH 5DY FRQWLQXHG WR DWWUDFW QHZ VWXGHQWV LQ WKH Beit E-l yeshiva. :LWK VR PDQ\ VWXGHQWV LW EHFDPH QHFHVVDU\ WR ¿QG D QHZ KRPH WR KRXVH WKH yeshiva. They then moved to the Shaul Mizrachi V\QDJRJXH DW 5DVKL 6WUHHW In 1989, the Rav decided to split the yeshiva into two groups. One would be led by Rav Shmuel Darazi, and would stay in the same location. That branch took on the name Neot Barama .
