The Wonders of Harav Yitzchack Kadouri

36 “I will help her pure soul to ascend higher" Five days before she returned her soul to her Maker, the Rabbanit was hospitalized, her situation rapidly deteriorating. On the eve of Lag B ʾ Omer (the 33rd day of the Omer) , she had a heart attack. This required her to be hooked up to a respirator. On the following day, her organs ceased to function and the doc- tors said that her situation was critical. When her only son, Harav Dovid Kadouri shlita, who was near her bedside, heard their words, he sent a messenger to his saintly father describing her situa- tion. The Rav was in middle of reciting the Evening Prayers in the Yad Mordechai synagogue in the Machaneh Yehudah neighborhood. 7KH PHVVHQJHU HQWHUHG ULJKW DIWHU WKH 5DY ¿QLVKHG WKH EOHVVLQJ ³:KR ORYHV his people, Israel, ʿ before the recital of Shma Yisrael. He whispered into the Rav ʾ s ear the critical situation of his wife. The Rav wrote on a little piece of paper some words and handed it to the messenger. After the prayers were over, the messenger showed the paper to the other worshipers and Kabbalists who had witnessed the scene. It read: She has passed away. Now I will help her pure soul to ascend higher. Those present had noticed that the Rav had said the verse of Shma with a raised voice and more intent than usual, raising the soul of his righteous and beloved wife to a higher portion in Gan Eden, alongside that of the Matriarchs. The Kadouri family From Rabbanit Sarah Sadira zt ʿ l, the Rav had a son, Harav David Kadouri shlita, whose smile, quietness, and humility remind one of his father; and a daughter, the Rabbanit Rachel. Her modesty and humility, inherited from her parents, typify her personality. These are but simple words to describe the Rabbanit, a woman of valor whose fear of G-d is her praise.
