34 The gravestone of the Rav ʾ s brother And Yitzchak was forty years old when he took… The Rav married the Rabbanit Sarah Sadira Nakash, daughter of Serach, on the 12th of Tevet, in 1927, after he passed the age of forty. As the saying goes, behind every great man is a great woman. The Rabbanit Sarah Sadira shared life with the Rav and assisted him, regardless of their impoverished state. Their home had only the barest furniture. She understood that it was her warmth and attending to his needs that gave her husband the opportunity to learn Torah.
