The Wonders of Harav Yitzchack Kadouri
301 Some people claim that they experienced wonders just from seeing the Rav in a dream. Even though they did not see the Rav when he was alive, seeing his holy visage and hearing his blessing in their dream worked miracles for them One person described how the Rav served by the Shabbat ta- ble, despite his advanced age. This person was a guest by the Rav’s home, and he saw how he slowly and laboriously walked to the kitchen to bring food and utensils for his guests. Doing so, he honored his guests and the Shabbat, beyond his capa- bilities, ful¿lling the statement of the sages that he who honors the Shabbat, is himself honored. The Rav was also pro¿cient in the knowledge of astronomy and the zodiac. He would determine many aspects of a person based on the relative position of the stars when they were born, as well as other factors. As part of Kabbalah, he learned detailed particulars of horoscopes the patterns of the astro- nomical bodies. Without a doubt, the Rav merited understanding so many hidden things only because of his total dedication to learning Torah, day and night. The Torah is complete, ¿lled with every branch of wisdom. Thus our sages have taught us, learn To- rah and turn it upside down, for all is contained within. He would astound his listeners with his quick and clear an- swers, enlightening every facet or subject. Sometimes it took time until the listener understood what the Rav meant or re- ferred to, as his answers were like a form of Divine inspira- tion and far-reaching insight. His word was accepted Above as if it was decreed in Heaven, as what the tzaddik decrees, G-d carries out.
