The Wonders of Harav Yitzchack Kadouri

229 We joined them together in this manner Joining the tombstones of the Rav with the Rabbanit heavenward and thanked the One Above for His great kindness. Out of gratitude, I kissed the existing tombstone. In the merit of the Rav, G-d brought the right man to donate the nee- ded modi¿cations. Indeed, from all cor- ners of the globe, people came to the Rav’s grave to pray. Made in Israel I felt that I was tremendously being aided by Heaven, and my joy knew no bounds. I made sure that only Jews would build the new tomb. I was presented with many types of marble to choose from, Italian, Turkish, and others. Howe- ver, I knew that the Rav would only have wanted marble which originated in Israel, and so I asked for the type which comes from the mountains around Shechem. Here, though, we faced a problem. These were meant to be gigan- tic slabs of marble, two and a quarter meters wide by a meter sixty. I told the owner of the quarry, “You’ll ¿nd.” He said, “No way.” After a week or so, he called me and said, “You won’t believe it! I found a huge rock, exactly the right size! I will cut it, and I hope that it won’t have any empty pockets or veins of ore running through it.” I prayed that the marble should be free of any defects, and that in the merit of the Rav, G-d should give His assent. And so it was, thank G-d.
