The Wonders of Harav Yitzchack Kadouri

212 An emissary of G-d A knock was heard on the door of the Kabbalist, Harav Mor- dechai Eliyahu, zt”l. On the other side of the door, the Rab- banit asked, “Who is it?” “It is I, Meir Malka. I have come to ask the Rav to compose the text to be inscribed on the tombstone of Harav Yitzchak Kadouri zt”l.” The door opened, and I was told to wait. One minute later, the Rav appeared, his face shining. I kissed his hand, and he asked me what I wanted. I said, “I would like to ask the Rav to compose the words which will be en- graved on the headstone of Harav Kadouri.” I described the general size of the tombstone, so the Rav could approximate the number of words to be inscribed. The Rav agreed to write it up, saying that with the help of G-d it would be ready tomorrow, and as- ked me to return the next morning. The next morning I arrived at his house, and the Rav welcomed me in. He led me to his study, which was full of holy books from all areas of Judaism. I sat opposite the Rav, who at that moment was just ¿nishing up the text to be inscribed, in his beautiful handwri- ting. He then insisted on rewriting it on a different paper, so that it should be without any deletions. This is the i n s c r i p t i o n which the Rav wrote, and was subsequent- ly engra- ved on the headstone: Harav Mordechai Eliyahu, zt”l, composed the inscription on the tomb
