The Wonders of Harav Yitzchack Kadouri

186 Reish Lakish taught, “Woe to us, for the Land of Israel lacks this great man.” Not one city, but the entire country suffers; all can feel the loss of a tzaddik. The same concept applies to the deceased. He protected the nation of Israel by his good deeds, he was a tremendous tzaddik, wise in all areas of Torah and Kabbalah, and the pillar of prayer and righteousness in our generation. Alas that we no longer have him with us, his passing is a loss for the entire Land of Israel, for the entire generation. Let us pray that G-d should have compassion on us, for the sake and glory of His Name, and ful¿ll the dictum, “The sun sets and the sun rises (alluding to the death of a tzaddik and the birth of the tzaddik of the next generation) .” Three months ago, I sent my right hand man, Rav Eliyahu Yishai, to tell the Rav what we are presently doing for the bene¿t of all Jews, worldwide. He told the Rav, and the Rav was satis¿ed, extremely happy to hear. He heard how many children are learning in Talmudei Torah (Hebrew day schools) , how many functioning mikvaot exist in the country, as well as the scope of our other activities, slowly spreading religion amongst the masses. The Rav was happy and grateful, as the purpose of all of our work has but one goal: Torah! Only Torah! One hundred percent Torah, and nothing else! We have no other purpose. Heaven can bear witness! And this was the whole focus of the Rav, the only thing which interested him. This is why he was so happy from our work and why he blessed us, as his whole life centered on Torah and raising its banner. May G-d remove death and wipe away every tear, have mercy on the Rav’s son and wife and extended family. They should merit a long and good life and whatever they do should be blessed with success, for the honor of Torah and its glory, Amen. The eulogy of the Sephardic Chief Rabbi, the Rishon L’Tzion, Harav Shlomo Moshe Amar shlita With permission from the distinguished Rabbis and leaders of the generation, as well as all those who came to show their respects to the deceased, with permission from Harav Ovadiah Yosef shlita, and the other esteemed Rabbis present…and the assembled crowd, Today is a very dif¿cult day for all of Israel. As the Torah relates by the passing of the children of Aharon, “And all of Israel shall cry over the ¿re that G-d has wrought.”
