The Wonders of Harav Yitzchack Kadouri

183 The eulogy of the Gaon and Kabbalist Harav David Batzri shlita, Head of the HaShalom Yeshiva in Jerusalem The Gaon Harav David Batzri shlita, was unable to speak for an extended length of time, due to of his feelings of pain and loss. He chose to cry out the words which begin the following prayer from Selichot, “Our G-d and the G-d of our forefathers, do not eradicate us, grasp the attribute of righteousness…” The eulogy of the Sephardic Chief Rabbi, the Rishon L’Tzion, Harav Bakshi Doron shlita The great Gaon who lies before us does not need our eulogies. He learned how to be silent, one who knew how to ‘shout (prayer) in a mere whisper.’ However, the quietness he displayed throughout his lifetime was one great exclamation of tribute to the Creator. We ask him to continue to be a Heavenly intercessor for the nation of Israel, just as he was in his lifetime. The eulogy of the Gaon Harav Ovadiah Yosef shlita The Torah says, “And Sarah died in Kiryat Arba.” When any tzaddik passes away, his city becomes bereft of his presence, and the glory and splendor which was once there departs. Even more, when a tzaddik dwells in any city in the Land of Israel, then the entire Land bene¿ts from his presence. The merit of his learning Torah and doing mitzvoth and righteous deeds affects and inÀuences all of the inhabitants of the Land. With his passing, the nation is plunged into darkness. This is why the Torah tells us where Sarah passed away, adding the Land in which she lived, “And Sarah died in Kiryat Arba, known as Hebron, in the Land of Canaan.”
