The Wonders of Harav Yitzchack Kadouri
167 The Jewish nation led one of the great personalities that will be etched into Jewish history forever to his ¿- nal resting place. Minutes passed by hurriedly. Kikar Shabbat was packed with people, and to get to the bier and the plat- form where the eulogies were being said was almost impossible. The pro- cession moved slowly, and at the top of Strauss Street there was no room to move. Some climbed on stone walls, rooftops, or stood on outdoor balconies to get a glimpse of the procession. On one slanted tile roof appea- red a ¿gure. It seemed as if there wasn’t a spot that wasn’t taken. The bier of the Rav was surrounded with po- lice barriers, and dozens of police attempted to control the crowd. Their efforts, though, were to no avail. The desire of hun- dreds and thousands of people to hold the bier of the Rav, for even a short amount of time, caused a tremendous lack of order.
