The Wonders of Harav Yitzchack Kadouri

116 Sanctifying the Name of G-d in public The Rav was joined by Rav Yehudah Deri shlita, the Rav of Be’er Sheva, and Rav Hadaya shlita, the Rav of (ilat, as well as the son of the Rav, Rav Dovid, and his son, Rav Yossi Kadouri, one who accompanied and attended to the Rav for many years. The Rav’s trip to (ilat altered the face of the entire city. A spontaneous rally was arranged, assembling over three thousand of the city’s inhabitants to greet the Rav and hear words of guidance. A tremendous surge of repentance was felt by all the participants, as they came to do something in order to save the city from the earthquake. There, a committee was formed to start the ¿rst religious day school, one that was so- rely lacking since the city’s founding, to improve the religious character of the city. This created a great sanc- ti¿cation of G-d’s Name. Since then, hundreds of Tal- midei Chachamim have joined the city, offering shiurim to the public and constantly learning Torah. A branch of the Yeshivat Ohr Hachaim , head by one of the great leaders of the teshuvah movement, Harav Rueven Albaz shlita, also opened its doors in (ilat. The Rav even went to visit the city’s Yospital Hospital. In one of the emer- gency rooms lay a woman who had been in a coma for quite some time. The Rav asked to be left alone near her bedside in order to concentrate and pray for her recovery. On the way out of the hospital, the Rav blessed all the patients with a full recovery. Back in Jerusalem, the Rav sent an amulet for the uncons- cious woman. After a week, the woman awoke from her coma, opened her eyes and stood on her feet. Lifting his hands… Says Rabbi Shimon Garson, one of the Rabbis of Ma’ale Adumim, “I was driving the Rav to visit Ma’ale Adumim, a settlement east of Jerusalem. On our way, along the steep and winding roads, the Rav asked for me to pull over to the side of the road. Without asking questions, I stopped the car. Rav Yehudah Deri thanks the Rav
