Until today, the Kabbalists follow the Rav’s directives and pray in these same sites. It is important to note that the Rav never visited the tombs on /ag Ba’omer (as many do) . The Rav would pour out his heart and bond his soul by the grave of the Arizal near Tzfat, and afterwards dip in the mikveh of the Arizal (an underground spring nearby, known for its freezing cold wa- ters.) The Rav would begin to descend into the waters, say a certain holy name, and imme- diately the waters would warm up, until after the Rav and his entourage left the site. /ater that day, the Rav would visit the tomb of the author of the Zohar, the holy Tanna Rab- bi Shimon bar Yochai.
